Patients who have a valid workers compensation claim with their employer and insurer can access workers compensation consultations at Champion Medical Centre.
Our doctors are experts in treating and returning injured workers back to the workplace as soon as it is safe to do so. Injured workers will have immediate access to a range of medical personnel including doctors, nurses and referral to allied health professionals to ensure an integrated and prompt recovery with optimal outcomes
Who is Eligible:
The Western Australian workers compensation and injury management scheme is designed to help workers return to work successfully following a work-related injury or illness.
Under the scheme, workers are compensated for lost wages, medical expenses and associated costs while they are unable to work.
Most injuries that occur on the job are covered by workers compensation insurance, including accidents and illnesses caused by exposure to work activities, materials and equipment.

You will require a longer appointment with a GP to assess your accident or injury & create a Initial or FIRST Workers Compensation Certificate. This appointment will incur a private out of pocket fee to the patient. This consultation should be fully reimbursed to you by either your employer or insurer upon the acceptance of your claim.
Once accepted, you will receive a unique claim number that you must bring along toyour next appointment, along with the contact details of your insurance company.
Once we have received the claim details mentioned above, all future consultation PROGRESS Workers Compensation consultation invoices will be sent directly to the insurer until the cessation of your claim when a FINAL Workers Compensation Certificate could have been issued.
To ensure continuity of care, it is important that you continue to visit your usual GP for your initial/ First workers compensation appointment and any ongoing review of your workers compensation claim.
Workers’ compensation appointments will need longer appointments times due to the complexity of the process involved in Facilitating the care.

It covers medical expenses, lost wages, and rehabilitation costs to help you return to work safely.
Start by reporting the injury to your employer to complete necessary incident forms and seek medical treatment. Documentation from our medical centre can support your claim.
Yes, you are entitled to choose your own doctor for treatment and ongoing assessments.
Bring all relevant workplace documentation, any previous medical records, and details of your employment insurance.
First Medical Certificate if initiated by your doctor if your injury if first assessed by us.
Progress Medical Certificate will be issued in subsequent consultations as needed.
We will need a copy of First medical Certificates and copies of any progress medical certificates if we are continuing your injury management process not initiated by us.
Doctors have a full discretion to decide their willingness to take over an injury management case if you are transferring care from another centre or provider.
Sometimes case conferences are needed which might include injured worker, Rehabilitation provider, Insurer, Employer or other allied health providers.
Respective Insurance covers the cost of medical consultations.
You need to provide us with the Claim number & insurance details when received.
While waiting for a claim number, the consultation fees need to be settled on the day of consultation.
These amounts can be reclaimed back from the insurer once the claim has been approved and claim number obtained.
